Cliff's 1967 Pride and Joy

It’s a standard Mercury Cougar hardtop 289 2V with C4 auto, powersteering, console and 8 track.

Built 25 December 1966

It spent almost its entire life in Calder Cresent, Regina, Saskatchewan before moving to its second home, also in Regina.

We transported it to Ontario and gave it a wash and polish

But under the bonnet (hood)

And this was the power steering control valve

We won't show the rust - it was a basket case!

We began on an almost total ground up restoration in 1999, but serious body work began in October 2001. The car was stripped completely and a parts car was acquired from California (arrived in June 2002), and the rebuild began. The body was finished at the end of 2002 and reassembly (by me) began over the winter of 2003. Most of the reassembly was done before the final body work and painting was completed on 28 Oct 2003. Although it is still called 'Dad's car' it is now known as 'The Cougar'. Cliff's cougar has been reborn.
